THE DORDOGNE RIVER

Visited: September 2007

THE DORDOGNE RIVER IS ABOUT THIRTY MILES AWAY FROM SARLAT
On my third day in town I decided to take a canoe ride down the river. The river is a twenty minute taxi cab ride from Sarlat.

IT’S ABOUT A FOUR HOUR CANOE RIDE DOWN THE RIVER
Canoes can be rented at an up river canoe shop and returned to a down river canoe shop located at the ancient town of BENAC.

JOIN ME .. LETS BEGIN OUR CANOE RIDE
It’s a beautiful day .. not a cloud in the sky

DRIFTING ALONG A LUSH, FORESTED RIVER BANK
Flowing softly and slowly . . Loving every minute of it.

THREE AND A HALF HOURS OF PURE BLISS

CASTLES AND MANSIONS ALONG THE WAY
We slowly drift by the France of six hundred years ago

AFTER A FOUR HOUR CANOE RIDE THE ANCIENT TOWN OF BENAC COMES INTO VIEW
I leave the canoe at another down stream canoe shop, climb the hill and begin an exploration of BENAC. After another two hours I board a bus and return to SARLAT.

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE MEMORIES?
Were you able to capture them with your camera? I’ll never forget that beautiful day on the DORDOGNE RIVER

A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS

Vision is our most dominant sense. It accesses more parts of the brain than any of our other senses.

Photographs activate a flood of memories that can not be accessed in any other way.

Those memories enrich our lives.

They spur us on to have even more ‘Peak Experiences’.
