Visited: September 2007

France is one of the most visited countries in the world. The Louve is the most visited Art Museum in the world and Paris is the third most visited city in the world.

France has a four seasons and a temperate climate.  Late Spring and Fall are the best travel times. You can travel to France for up to 90 days without a visa.

THE NATIONAL MOTTO IS:

LIBERTY … EQUALITY … FRATERNITY

SARLAT

Visited: … September 2007

ON THIS TRIP I TRAVELED SOLO FOR 8 DAYS IN PARADISE ... I LOVED IT.
Sarlat is a medieval French town. It’s ‘Golden Age’ was from 1450 to 1550. In 1962 a law was passed that allowed ’The Old Town’ to receive sufficient funds to be restored back to the days of it’s former glory.

MY ROOM FOR FIVE DAYS
It was inexpensive (about $40 a night) and located on the 3rd floor of an old apartment building in the heart of the ‘Old Town’ of SARLAT.’

I HAD MY LAPTOP COMPUTER WITH ME
I’m able to enjoy the photographs that I took during the day WHAT A THRILL!

IT’S A BEAUTIFUL DAY
Let’s take a walk in the ‘OLD TOWN’.

IT’S FILLED WITH RESTAURANTS
The French love their food.

OUTDOOR SEATING IS EVERYWHERE
Delicious dinners in a 500 year old environment

AT NIGHT
Street musicians are everywhere, filling the air with songs and beautiful music

ANOTHER DAY SPENT IN HEAVEN

NIGHT TIME IN THE ‘THE OLD TOWN’ IS WONDERFUL

LEARNING TO TRAVEL TAKES SKILLS

I highly recommend a book by Rick Steves called

“EUROPE THROUGH THE BACK DOOR The Travel Skills Handbook”

Hundreds of pages describe many ways to travel comfortably, safely and inexpensively with a sense of adventure and delight.

It describes ways to pack,  how to avoid dangers, how to deal with transportation issues, finding clean, inexpensive places to stay and how to find really good inexpensive restaurants.

It also lists and locates the most interesting sights to see.
